Free Donut Day

2022-01-18T05:52:19+00:00

Free Donuts at Krispy Kreme I'm usually a few hours behind on free stuff days. Not this time. June 5th is National Doughnut Day. To celebrate National Doughnut Day, Krispy Kreme will be giving away free donuts. One per person. But that's why I carry around a stage makeup case with me. I'm shooting for at least a dozen free donuts. No word yet on how Dunkin' Donuts will celebrate the day. National Moonshine Day Celebrating National Doughnut Day with free [...]

The Quest For Don Quixote Lives

2023-11-16T00:56:52+00:00

The Quest For Don Quixote at TheatreSquared I'm thrilled to say that my play The Quest for Don Quixote will be headlining the Arkansas New Play Festival this June at Theatre Squared in Fayetteville, Arkansas. That is completely Judy Dench! The Swank Press Release Playwright Ben Eisenberg sits in a Starbucks, just one day before Don Quixote begins rehearsal. There’s just one problem — he hasn’t written it. His agent is apoplectic, the advance is long since spent, and adapting [...]

2017-10-28T06:43:47+00:00

Des Moines Playhouse Goes Around the World in 80 Days Photo courtesy Steve Gibbons Des Moines Playhouse is producing my play Around the World in 80 Days. This may be an Iowa premiere but I'm not sure. And it may be the oldest theatre to produce the play. The Des Moines Playhouse was founded in 1919. You know what also happened in 1919? The Treaty of Versailles; the Weimar Republic came into existence in Germany; Mussolini formed the Fascist Party; Senate passed the Women's Suffrage [...]

Uptown Funk Parody

2022-12-13T04:12:35+00:00

Harry Potter Uptown Funk Parody My daughter loves Harry Potter. She also loves Bruno Mars. She's going to plotz when she sees this Harry Potter Uptown Funk parody. The song is put out by KFaceTV. The songs has spawned an Uptown Funk parody world. This is probably the best one I've seen. The best cover I've seen of Uptown Funk is by Alex Boye'. And while you're checking out Alex, catch his cover of Shake it Off. It's fantastic. [embedplusvideo height="360" [...]
