Here Lies Love Returns to the Public Theatre

Here Lies Love, the fantastic musical about Imelda Marcos by David Byrne and Fat Boy Slim, is returning to the Public Theatre starting March 24th for an open-ended run. My tip of the day is get your tickets now! Last year Here Lies Love was the hottest ticket in New York City and for good reason: it's terrific. Here's what the Public Theatre has to say about the show: "Within a pulsating dance club atmosphere, David Byrne and Fatboy Slim deconstruct [...]

B Street Takes Around the World in 80 Days to India

Back in 2004, the B Street Theatre in Sacramento, CA was one of first theatres to produce Around the World in 80 Days. The B Street was having financial troubles and my show was just getting its legs. The production was a smash hit. It extended three times and ran for an ironical total of 80 days. "An antic and hilarious stage tour de force that delighted the nearly full house at the B Street Theatre."  - Sacramento Bee More importantly, [...]

Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre Going Around the World

The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre just announced that Around the World in 80 Days will be part of their 54th Anniversary Season. Located in the heart of Missouri, and smack dab in the middle of the Missouri River, - seriously, the town of Arrow Rock should be a barge - the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre has been going strong since 1961. And in 1960, just one year before Arrow Rock kicked off its first ever season with The Importance of [...]

The Isle of Memories

The other day I posted about how years ago I recorded some of my songs in my living room. The songs were mostly meditations about loss and loneliness. I grouped them under an imaginary CD entitled The Ghosts That Haunt Me. I am probably the least knowledgable person about home recording but I recorded them for fun and to see what I could create. Here's The Isle of Memories. I hope you like it.

Muriel

Years ago I wrote and recorded songs to while away the time between auditions and acting gigs. I was digging through the vault today and found this one. It's called "Muriel,"  about a guy finally able to say goodbye to his past and move on with his life. It was part of my imaginary album entitled The Ghosts That Haunt Me. Cheery, huh? Well, that's what a lifelong battle with depression will do to you. I've always wanted to bribe someone like [...]

Hangar Theatre Goes Around the World

The Hangar Theatre announced today that Around the World in 80 Days will be part of it's 40th Anniversary Mainstage Season. Thanks so much to Jen Waldman, Hangar's new Artistic Director, for choosing my show to be part of the season. I just hope that when June rolls around the temperature in Ithaca won't be 1°F.        Temp at 7:20pm EST. Weather.com says it feels like -15°F. Brr.

New Year’s Resolutions

Another year is upon us and that means another round of resolutions are made. I read somewhere that only 8% of New Year Resolutions are successful. That's not a great statistic but it might not be the worst thing in the world. Think of the stress relief when you no longer have to succeed at a resolution. Take my resolution to write a post every day in 2014. Already broken. Boom. I now have 362 stress-free days. There are, however, [...]
