Around the World in 80 Days at Meadow Brook

Around the World in 80 Days at Meadow Brook Meadow Brook Theatre's production of Around the World in 80 Days is going great guns. The production has received 4 rave reviews. The latest is from the Oakland Press - “Around the World in 80 Days” is a fun-filled, fast-paced adventure comedy!" Truth be told, I thought the Oakland Press was the name of a wrestling move named after Oakland Moon, King of the Grappling Hold. This production is the Michigan [...]

National Depression Screening Day

National Depression Screening Day Today is National Depression Screening Day. I know. And you thought it was just Leif Erikson Day. Oh hvor feil du er, min venn. National Depression Screening Day was started in 1991 to help people learn more about depression and provide screening and treatment referrals for anyone concerned about it. It's a terrible disease fraught with stigma and shame but hopefully that is changing. Depression is more widespread than people know. It is more common than AIDS, cancer, and diabetes [...]

Meadow Brook Theatre Goes Around the World

Meadow Brook Theatre Goes Around the World Meadow Brook Theatre opened its season with my play Around the World in 80 Days. I'm always excited when a theatre decides to do one of my shows and I'm extra excited when it's the first show of the season. I pray fiercely that the show kicks off a successful season. Meadow Brook Theatre's season seems to be getting off on the right foot. A couple of reviews have come out and they're [...]

My Dunkin Donuts Santa Monica Trip

Dunkin Donuts Santa Monica When I first heard that Dunkin Donuts was coming to Santa Monica I did my happy donuts dance. I'm from the east coast and was weened on Dunkin Donuts. Of course I also come from a family of diabetics, but never mind that detail. Dunkin Donuts was coming to Santa Monica! The opening was insane. People slept out to be one of the first to get their hands on those glorious cake donuts. The first customer [...]

Facebook Friday Sept 12, 2014

It's another Facebook Friday. Today it's the Classic Edition. Who's on First My friend Sheffield posted this classic video of Abbot and Costello's Who's on First Routine. When I was a kid I held a tape recorder up to the TV to record it. I listened to that recording over and over again until the tape wore out. This routine is complete genius.
