Here’s another review of the Off-Broadway production of my play Around the World in 80 Days. It’s a lovely review but this is what worries me:
“This show, which just opened at the end of May, seems to be flying under the radar (I hadn’t heard a single thing about it beyond that subway ad).”
Under the radar!? Oh no. We have to get this puppy out from under the radar and smack dab on the radar. It needs to be so on the radar that people will want to say, “Get a room!” Because the reviewer goes on to say —
“But it’s a surprising treat, an adaptation that remains true to Verne’s vision while still telling something fresh. It is also so infectious that I want to dive right back into that novel or maybe just see the show again.
See the show again!? This guy is like my friend Rich Niedt, who has seen the show several times. They should get Frequent Flyer cards (even though there isn’t a balloon in the show.)
So what to do? I don’t know. But –
“– if you’re in NYC, take a break from those big Broadway productions and go see this delightful and charming play instead.”
