Back in 2004, the B Street Theatre in Sacramento, CA was one of first theatres to produce Around the World in 80 Days. The B Street was having financial troubles and my show was just getting its legs. The production was a smash hit. It extended three times and ran for an ironical total of 80 days.

“An antic and hilarious stage tour de force that delighted the nearly full house at the B Street Theatre.”  – Sacramento Bee

More importantly, the production helped the B Street get out of its financial troubles. I’ve always been very proud that something I wrote helped a theatre with their finances. A few years later the B Street did a revival of the show.

What could possibly top a theatre doing my show twice? Well, now the B Street is taking the show to India! Shut up! India!?

They’ll be at the 1,010 seat Tata Theatre at the National Centre Performing Arts in Mumbai. After that they’ll be at the 800 seat JT PAC in Kochi.

Around the World in 80 Days will be directed by Buck Busfield and features most of the original cast from 2004:  Michael Stevenson, Amy Resnick, Greg Alexander, Elisabeth Nunziato and David Pierini.

Before they head to India, the B Street will perform a special 5-night engagement of the show in Sacramento, Feb. 11 – Feb. 15, 2014.

“Friday and Saturday’s performance will have catering, chocolates and champagne after the show for a special meet and greet with the cast, plus a slide show of the places we are visiting in India and more details about the trip from Producing Artistic Director, Buck Busfield.”

Thank you, B Street. Have a great trip. And take lots of pictures!
