80_Days_2

Creede Repertory Theatre in Creede, CO has taken the old adage “the show must go on” and changed it to “wildfires are for pansies!” Despite three raging wildfires in Southern Colorado, the theatre is still opening my show Around the World in 80 Days tonight.

Wildfires are for pansies!

And exactly how do you get to the theatre? A police escort!

“Highway 149 between South Fork and Creede is open to escorted traffic from 8AM to 10PM. Travelers going up from South Fork to Creede will be escorted ON THE HALF HOUR from the barricade near the 149 turn-off in South Fork. Travelers headed down from Creede to South Fork will need to be at Mile Marker 14 near Wagon Wheel Gap ON THE HOUR to be escorted.

Our evening shows let out with ample time to make it to South Fork.  As for Forum, since it gets out at around 9:50, our Sheriff’s department has graciously offered to run an escort for theatregoers after Forum performances.  Gotta love those guys.”

Talk about making the evening an event you  won’t soon forget. When was the last time you had a police escort to the theatre?

Everyone at the theatre has been working hard to put together a wonderful season. We shouldn’t let a little wildfire ruin all their hard work. Hop in your car, get a police escort, see the show, tell your family and friends that wildfires are for pansies.
